tkAmp Version 2.42 - download now

Ok, wow. Big changes since 2.31. First off, tkAmp now uses a
full gui interface. Wahoo! Installation slightly different, please read below
for details.
Description - This is a script for
mIRC that will allow you to play mp3's while chatting on the irc.. The cool part
- it displays what song you play in the channel and anyone else has the script
turned on will also hear the song play. Allows everyone to try their hand at
being the dj. As well, the big seller.. if you have the script and someone plays
a song that you don't have, this script allows you to get it from them. Adds a
whole new level to collecting mp3s.
Installation (MUST have mIRC 5.91 or later)
Ok.. first thing you have to do is open mIRC if it's not open already.
Once you're in mIRC press alt-r to bring up your remotes script section.
Switch to the variables tab.
Either delete _everything_ (possibly a bad idea!) or if you think there may
be some variables in there from other scripts that you need, just remove anything
to do with tkAmp, music, mp3player, songs, etc.. that may be left over from old
versions of tkAmp or other mp3 scripts.
Close mIRC
Go into your mirc directory, (usually c:\mirc\ or c:\program files\mirc\) and delete
any scripts you have called tkamp.ini or mp3player*.ini
or either of those names ending in .mrc instead of .ini
Put the new tkAmp.ini (version 2.4x) into your mirc directory
Open mIRC
Press alt-r to bring your remotes section up again.
Click view.
If you don't see tkAmp.ini then go to Menu->File->load->script and pick the new tkamp.ini
file that we put in your mIRC directory, and then the script is loaded!
Ok, there are a few settings you need to set in mIRC to use this script properly.
They are fewer than in the past but there are still some.
**NOTE: The setting for drag and drop is different from previous
versions of tkAmp so you need to change this to the new entry as described below if you are upgrading
In mIRC, Menu->File->Options, expand the mouse category. Under Drag and Drop, make the
first line "*.mp3:tkdnd $1-" (without the quotes)
Expand the DCC section. Under the section called folders... you will
see a drop down box that has Default in it. Also in that drop down there is an
entry that
says *.wav,*.mid,*.mp3 etc. Select Edit and delete the
,*.mp3 entry from the list so it just reads *.wav,*.mid,*.ogg (and whatever else types
aside from mp3 are in there). Then you need to select Add and make a new entry
with *.mp3 in it.
Click on the button below where it says Into this folder, and pick where you will be
saving any new mp3s you get with tkAmp and hit Ok
You're done the installation! Close your options section, click in a
channel, and hit F12 to open tkAmp

I want to thank everyone that has helped me make this script.
:) All the bug reports from everyone, and suggestions for new additions are
invaluable. And to all my friends who use the script a special thanks :) It's
with all of you in mind that I finally got off my butt and made this version
with the GUI. Hope you enjoy it.
Work on this project stopped a long time ago. If you want to pick up where I left off
or you have any general questions contact me (imbezol) on efnet in #crd.
