Notes for successful 2.4 kernel installation on gen_V (RaQ XTR and RaQ550) systems. All these fixes must be done BEFORE rebooting your 2.4.x kernel, or bad things will happen. 1) There is a bug in CCE that is exposed by this kernel. The easiest workaround (these are experimental, right? :) for this bug is to edit the file '/usr/sausalito/conf/base/swupdate/swupdate.conf' and change all instances of 'perl:' to 'exec:'. 2) A new version of modutils may be needed to handle 2.4 kernel module names. Get and install the modutils rpm from the directory above this directory, if the version you have is older than 2.4.3. 3) The name of the ethernet driver has changed between version 2.2 and 2.4. You need to edit /etc/modules.conf and change all occurences of 'dp83815' to 'natsemi'.
